DESCRIPTION:The Durant Olive Mill’s Community Milling Day is for growers with less than the 1,000-lb minimum for Custom Milling — all you need is just 2 gallons of olives! Inspired by traditional community milling days in the Mediterranean, we’ll combine everyone’s harvest to create a fresh, seasonally unique Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Be part of this lively, hands-on tradition with your very own oil as we celebrate the season, and savor Durant Vineyards wine and small bites along the way!\nMilling Day Details:\n– Weather permitting, we recommend trying to pick your olives as close to the milling date as possible and storing them in a cool, well ventilated place.\n-Bring olives in a vented container such as a 5 gallon bucket or bin, uncovered. (Please do not bring olives in coolers, lidded containers, or garbage bags as it will cause the olives to spoil).\n– Olives will be inspected and weighed. Olives that are damaged or compromised will not be accepted.\n– Cost is $1.50 per lb of olives processed\n– Minimum of 2 gallons per person\n– Example yield: 50 lbs of olives will yield roughly 1/2 gallon of olive oil (depending on quality, handling, ripeness, and other factors)\n– Event is limited to 35 people\n– Your olive oil will be ready for pickup on 12/7\nRSVP HERE\n
