Sunday School: Art of Food Processing, Jam & Jelly
Have you wondered why a homemade jam or jelly taste so much better than what you buy at the store?
Oregon is famous for its flavorful summer fruits, and beautiful fruit makes the best preserves. Durant Culinary Director Sara Kundelius has been making homemade jam since she was in elementary school and it is one of her true passions. In this class, you will learn how to take the season’s best produce and turn it into a delicious preserve that can be enjoyed year round or given as thoughtful gifts. Sara will demonstrate how simple the process is, and the minimal amount of equipment needed to accomplish making your jam and jelly. Students will enjoy a glass of wine as they sample preserves, and leave with instructions to make your own at home.
