Spiced Orange Olive Oil Cake
The holiday season is often a busy season for baking, but the treats you’re prepping don’t need to be difficult. This olive oil cake recipe doesn’t require a stand mixer, and the batter comes together with a whisk in just minutes. - 3 Eggs, room temperature
- ½ cup Durant Orange Fused Olive Oil
- 1 ¼ cups Granulated sugar
- Zest of 1/2 an orange
- ¼ cup Greek yogurt
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 ½ cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- ½ tsp Baking soda
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Allspice
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with a round piece of parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, olive oil, sugar, orange zest, Greek yogurt, and milk.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and allspice.
- Gradually, whisk the flour mixture into the oil mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 20 minutes before inverting and leaving to cool on a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with orange slices before serving.
