14 Nov Spiced Orange Olive Oil Cake
The holiday season is often a busy season for baking, but the treats you’re prepping don’t need to be difficult. This olive oil cake recipe doesn’t require a stand mixer, and the batter comes together with a whisk in just minutes. With Durant Orange Fused Olive Oil for great moisture and bright citrus flavor, along with a touch of baking spice to make it more complex, it’s the ideal no-fuss dessert to slice and serve for a special occasion. - Recipe courtesy of Molly Allen
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with a round piece of parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, olive oil, sugar, orange zest, Greek yogurt, and milk.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and allspice.
Gradually, whisk the flour mixture into the oil mixture, mixing until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 20 minutes before inverting and leaving to cool on a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with orange slices before serving.
Enjoy!
